dude you didn't read a damned word i said. i know wtf i'm talking about with transportation route planning. if you need me to draw you a picture i will (and then you can take that to David Allen), but just take my word for it, lot 1 is logistically a million times better than 9/11.

make it happen.

Your right how did you know i read all the other replies but yours?

anyways back on topic. I received a question through one of my forums. Can we dyno a dodge 1500 2wd?. He didn't give me specifics on the length/wheel base. But maybe you guys know the max dimensions and I can give those to him?

we did an F350 a couple years ago, as long as we've got the same dyno i'd assume it'd work.

ok i'll let him know, while we are on the subject. Whats the story with member's dynoing their cars. I didn't get a chance to dyno in the fall. I'd like to do it at the meet, otherwise i'll just pay for one over break.

You know this issue came up before years ago and I don't think a decision was made on it. Most people said no to letting members dyno back then but ill discuss it and make a decision

I mean of course ill pay. Its either at the meet or ill go to Altered Atmosphere. I'd like to at the meet but its not a huge deal. This car needs to be dyno'd though.

There is also a dyno day at CP-e on the 20th that you could attend. I think the prices are similar.

I think priority should be given to high horsepower ringers since it's an attraction everyone can enjoy, not just the person dynoing

pretty sure we did it last year with the turbo drag IS

You can see the crowds that supras bring in the current flyer pic (there are 2 supras up on 2 dynos + mad crowd gathered for each)

I think members should be able to dyno but no preference given over anyone else. I think in the past members weren't allowed

I wasn't asking for preferance just curious. Some people might take interest in a volvo dynoing at 22psi. Just a thought. Is CP-e the shop where everyones car was pinging/knocking? If my car knocks its likely to bend a rod and really knock.

We went to P3 Performance. And the knocking was not the fault of the dyno or the people there. Logans car knocked because it wasn't tuned for meth correctly. Stephen and Micheals Mach1 knocked because the rear jet in the carb wasn't working. Every other car was fine. I imagine these problems might not have shown themselves if it was a dynojet but obviously the mustang dyno helped people to find problems they needed to fix.

Hehe, you guys should probably make a new thread about the dyno issue.

I agree with the 'priority on high horsepower cars', which I've said for the past few years and got bitched at by all the guys with slow cars lol. I'm sorry, but nobody wants to see a 2wd Dodge 1500 pickup on the dyno unless it has a big block and open headers. A volvo at 22psi doesn't really sound that exciting either, don't those come with boost? People want to see cars up there that make a lot of power and a lot of noise. Notice how the huge crowds gather for the Supras because they are crazy loud, make weird noises with BOV's and wastegates, and make oodles of hp. Like I said, I'll dyno if I still have my car by then. If you'd rather see a stock truck up there than a car like mine because I'm an alum, you are retarded.

Again I'll repeat for those who want to argue. The point of a mobile dyno at a show is to make a big display for the attendees to see crazy cars actually running. Nobody can drive fast or show what their car was built for by sitting still in a parking lot. I don't care if some dude just bought a 2003 Camry and wants to 'get a baseline hp number' for when he starts modding, the car is boring and nobody will pay attention. Tell the guy to go to a private shop on his own time. People complain every year about the crappy cars we have up on the dyno and we need it to stop.

I'd say if you guys want awesome cars, have the club pay some of the dyno fee and only charge people $30 or so for a few runs. I guarantee you'll have plenty of people with nice cars step it up then. Plus you'll have people actually talking about the badass cars on the dyno and more people will want to dyno in the future.

Hey fellas,I was ecstatic to learn about this years meet!I will be there for my third year.I must confess something though. In the '08 meet,I was able to park in the main lot where everything was happening. That was cool.I was able to keep a decent eye on my ride and it garnered all sorts of attention. In '09,I arrived around the same time as the year before and had to park in an adjacentlot, way in BFE.I was not happy about that. Not only was I way far away from the main lot,my ride never received any attention and I was constantly worried about it's security, due to being so darn far away. Now I don't go to CP,but am an avid car lover like everyone here.I figured it would mean at least something coming from an outsider. So in turn,I strongly urge to seek other options like the lot 1 idea I keep seeing.I'm quite sure any con's will be a fine trade off from the cluster fart I witnesses last year with the parking. Not telling anyone what to do here,or stir any crap, just offering an opinion and hoping something might happen to make it flow a little better and take a step toward getting more organized. Thanks for reading!

Pinki here from National G Club. Wheras I understand the concern about tents causing damage to cars, last year the worst tent collapse was the food tent that came inches from hitting me in the face.... a face that I have become pretty attached to in the last 30 odd years.

Last year we set up our tents outside of the entrance as we have children and people with health issues that restrict them from overexposure to direct sunlight. We brought over 40 cars last year in an orderly fashion and have more than that signed up for this year. But the issue with tents not being allowed in the grass is causing us to rethink the meet.

We were told by one of the organizers to bring sunscreen, a hat and drink lots of water, that doesnt really help with people who are medically not cleared to stand out in the direct sunlight.... ok water that the meet ran out of last year? Or was that water at the ONE food area that you had to buy a ticket to stand in another line to get the food which had more than a few people handling the food without proper safety precautions.

I understand the need for more space for the cars but there should be a designated area for people to bring tents... People need to accept responsibility for any damages done, its the same as if you opened your car door and the wind sent it into one of the exotics.

The simple fact is that people are going to bring tents as not everyone is going to see the flyer. I think that you as organizers need to have one centralized location (a tent city if you will) for people to set up shade. If not there are going to be ALOT of arguments and people not adhering to the rules you have set forth.

So now its a laughing matter? One of our members has Lupus and cant be in the direct sunlight. We also have children who cant be out for hours at a time. Others are on medication that prevents long exposure to direct sunlight.

We are even willing to pay as a sponsor if we are able to have a tent so our family members (whose support is important to the lasting of a car club as I am sure you know) can be comfortable.

Last year we set our tents up outside of the meet but we understand if someone sees our tents they will want to put theirs up.

In the area behind where the food was last year it may be feasible for yall to set this up as a place where people can set their tents up. Under the instructions that they will secure them so they dont blow away. That area is far enough away from the cars that even if one rouge tent blows... people will secure it.

I love the fact that your club is going through the motions of getting this massive meet together, I feel your pain on the logistics of it but given the weather the last few years some people have not had the most enjoyable experience due to the lack of shade. I know your main concern is the cars but people need to be taken into account also.

C'mon man, get a sense of humor, you aren't on your home forum anymore.

I understand the lack of shade thing. I think in the past, the no tents policy was mainly because the lots we were in didn't have much grass and people either block up parking spaces and sitting in them, or don't weigh them down so they go flying around.

If we get lot 1 this year, it is much bigger and spread out, in addition to having a lot of grassy areas between seperate lots (A,B,C,D, etc). There are also some trees around that can be used for shade in a pinch. I'd say the grassy areas would be fine for tents, but as of now, we can't really say because we don't know which lot we're using yet.

(Even if we are in the same lot as before, I'm sure if you set up a tent in the grass kind of away from the cars, you'll be fine. Just tell them you didn't even know there was a car show and you're there to watch the intramural games on the turf field or tailgating for a softball game lol)

I will bring this issue up with the other officers tonight. Do you remember where you set up your tents last year by the way?
