Brian/Admin, add "for CHARITY" to the thread title in the official post before everyone posts it up (or after...)... it always guilts the more reluctant people into coming haha Also add "Sunday" if you can (just suggesting if u want)

"2010 University of Maryland SPRING MEET - for CHARITY - Sunday, MAY 2" is what I threw up on Nasioc

Got Nasioc covered
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1940506

GJ getting the post together!!! excited!

It just doesn't flow as well. Also I don't want to trip any title length requirements for forums

no sweat man

We need a bigger lot.

Everyone's bitching about how they had to park 3 blocks away last year

And if I weren't CPT, I would too

Dude... make this thread title on this forum a little more noticeable for members and lurkers... like

Standard Forum Post for Spring Meet 2010 and sticky it in General and Spring Meet '10!

Not trying to be a dick, but don't be lazy.

And you guys are still doing Lot 9 & 11.... ? Its going to overflow.

example from NASIOC:
Quote:

Don't lose support... think about everyone who might have this mentality... Don't just keep doing it, do it better, more efficient, make people WANT to come...

Maybe that's my age and work experience talking now But, you can't build a dynasty doing the same shit over and over again.

Right now there is no second image. that code is just a place holder. so when I get a second image it will be there. The first image is a place holder as well. Also I will add this page to more places. I just mainly wanted to get it up and have some people look at it before it spreads to the far corners of the interet

Also yes we are doing lots 9 and 11 as it is too late to attempt to get a place anywhere else. If we wanted someplace else I would want signatures of people who came to the meet who are students or alumni for evidence of why we deserve a better location

What do you mean it's too late? Who said so?

It's March next week.. thats 2 months until May. It is not too late at all. All you need to do is schedule time, make a presentation, and present.

You want help from an Alum or two? I will help. I'll show up in a business suit with a Powerpoint presentation and compelling numbers (that you'll need to provide me)

I would need things like:
$ made from first event to last years even
# of cars from year 1 to last year
# of people from year 1 to last year
$ donated year 1 to last year
food donated year 1 to last year
(can be rough estimates)

Make compelling arguments. None of you are good at selling an idea?

If they let you use lot 1, the number of attendance to the event will likely increase by 20%, which means donations will increase by 20%, exposure to the UMD campus will increase 20%, student influx to UMD may possibly increase 5%, state funding will increase by X%

An online petition can be set up, very easy.

That was just my personal opinion. I will still try, I just feel that signatures from the event would be a helpful bit of evidence. I will pm you Keith on ideas and such. We also hope to curtail the traffic problem as Sigma Chi is helping us this year

Hey all! Robbie here from the NationalGClub, we all had a blast last year at this event and are really looking forward to it again for this year! I did not see a facebook event page so I took the liberty of creating one. I simply copied everything from above and hope no one has a problem with that. Just let me know if you would like to be added as an admin of the event page and it will be no problem!

+1 to Keith. I've put together 60 page proposals in less than a week, I'm pretty sure a 2-3 minute powerpoint given by some upstanding young member could be put together quickly enough without significantly affecting any planning time that's needed for the meet.

I am an alumni

I would be very happy to talk to the parking people.

Let me know when and where (as long as I'm not in class– Law School)

Because we do not want people setting them up in the lot and blocking/taking up spaces. We have also had issues with a few blowing around in the past when they were on the grass. Those ones blew into the lot and thankfully did not hit any cars; but if they had.......oh god

Nope no tents whats so ever. We don't want to have to deal with the issue of if something goes wrong. Sorry you are getting grilled on it.

Why aren't you guys letting anyone in before 12:00? Don't you think this is gonna create a line of cars to get in that clogs campus and rt1?

If you had rolling admission from 9am - 12pm it'd clog less

But then people getting there at 9am wouldn't stay all afternoon

...but then again with 5,000 cars coming maybe we don't want people staying all afternoon ––*and it would make it overall less crowded with staggered admission times

pro's and con's to everything
