Sean is my hero!!!

I wouldn't mind being a food manager again but I don't think I can stay all day until 8 because I have to drive back to WV Sunday night. I can probably stick around til about 6 or so. If that's not a problem for anyone, cool. If it is, you can put me on any food-related job or anywhere as needed during the morning shift.

I can also bring 2 or 3 walkie talkies and a cooler.

I thought I did this last year once the thread closed but I can't find it so I've once again compiled a list of the suggestions and comments from last year's meet. Whether or not I think we can/should do all of these things, I posted up everything.

Food
-Oven mitts for people working at the grill so they don’t burn their hands
-Don’t have the food line running in front of the DJ (It’s too loud for people having to stand in line for so long)
-Charge $2 for burgers and $1 for everything else (since the burgers take longer to cook, have a higher demand, and are more expensive to buy)
-Start cooking food even earlier and keep them in trays (we sold about 1000 burgers by 3pm so don’t think we’ll be making too many by cooking in advance)
-Put the water tent by the dyno
-Sell soda at the water tent as well
-Buy Styrofoam plates instead of paper plates
-Buy more than 4 bags of charcoal to start with
-Buy more ice to start with
-Buy more ketchup
-Buy more food to start with
-Clearly indicate that there is a water station so people who only want water don’t have to stand in the long food line
-Better organization of the food line
-Don’t allow the DJ to make an announcement about the food until noon so we have time to cook food in advance before the line starts building up
-Plan to go on necessary food runs well before the food is close to running out (with all the traffic it took about an hour to go on a food run and come back)
-Get more grills
-Wrap food cooked in advance in foil and store in a cooler or a tray to keep them warm
-Have designated coolers for specific drinks (all water in one cooler, all orange soda in another cooler, all cola soda in another cooler, etc) so people don’t have to stick their hands in cold ice/water searching for different drinks
-Space the food tents out more
-Get matchlight charcoal so we don’t have to deal with lighter fluid problems

Traffic Flow/Parking
-Cleary designate “entrance only” and “exit only” points with signs or large banners
-Don’t use the recycling center lot as an overflow lot
-Bigger signs near campus entrance, M circle, etc to help direct people to the meet location
-Have a parking manager to check the availability of spots in the lots
-Rent a scissor lift for the parking manager to be able to see over the lots
-Keep the morning traffic lanes
-Have signs indicating that there are cars in the lot by the View or tell the DJ to make announcements

Vendors/Dyno
-Tighter regulations/enforcement on vendor parking (vendors were granted 8 spaces but took up more spaces than that)
-Don’t allow unofficial/unpaid vendors and businesses to hand out cards/flyers/etc. It’s unfair for official vendors to pay when other businesses can promote themselves for free
-Don’t let the DJ make announcements about unofficial/unpaid vendors and businesses
-Have a yellow tape line around the dyno so people don’t stand too close
-Have a sign indicating the vendor lot

CPT Members
-Better communication/Pay attention to your cell phone or walkie so you can pick up when someone calls you
–Wear Event Staff t-shirts/name badges to distinguish us from regular people who bought shirts

Miscellaneous
-Stronger tents (the water station tent fell over)
-Buy sunblock for club members to use
-Sell mini sunblock bottles with CPT logo
-Sell “CPT Spring Meet ‘09” T-shirts
-Have the DJ take breaks from playing music
-Have a rain date
-Have more trash cans/empty trash cans more often
-Bring duct tape
-Try to get more exotics
-Take a panoramic picture of the meet from the View to include lot 11b too

I'm going to play captain planet here and say no to Styrofoam. If we're (as in the everyone at the meet) going to pollute, at least make it biodegradable.

That is all. Good luck.

Letting people in by Regents screws stuff up because that end of the lot was designated as an exit IIRC.

Where is the meeting on Thursday? What building/room are we going into after meeting up on the garage? I can't find the calendar thread (read: I don't see it on the forum front page and I'm too lazy to look for it.)
